Have you lost all or some of your natural teeth? Bridges, dentures and flexible dentures are not the only solution, thanks to advances in modern dentistry. Dental implants are small metal screws that are placed in the jaw so that crowns, bridges and dentures can be fixed onto them.

Implant dentistry offers a clinically proven and safe solution to getting back a great smile and being able to bite and chew with confidence. When you lose your natural teeth, your jaw bone and surrounding tissues start to resorb or disappear over time. When implants are placed in the jaw, it stimulates the remaining bone to grow and mesh around the metal, along with tiny blood vessels.

Here at Young’s, Dr Luniya is able to provide dental implant surgery in the practice without the need to refer out. The process will begin with a thorough implant assessment to check you are suitable for dental implants. We will then refer you to CT Dent in Leeds for a CT Scan, which will help us to see if there is enough bone to place a dental implant, or if we will be required to undertake a bone graft or sinus lift. Implant surgery days are set aside, when you will have the implants placed. This can be done with or without sedation, but always under local anaesthesia. Your next visit will be to expose the implant, followed by a visit to have dental impressions, and finally 3 weeks later your last appointment to have the crown placed on top.
